LA, the first night oooh my ...

I had late checkin at the Cadillac hotel last night and as I had not slept for many hours perhaps one hour on the plane, so I did not go out last just stayed in at hotelroom. I checked internetspeed, did some blogging and updating myself on whats going around the world.

I have a pretty good view over the beach walking road except for the moscitonet blocking the view to some extent.

Let me tell some of the things that happened last night, not in my hotelroom but on the street below.
1. there is a crazy bozo living on the street, shouting, being polite, SCREEMING, ... I have a view to   this 'area'

2. there were 2 drunks shouting towards each other and finally had a fistfight, according too people on the street that I could hear saying that, I did not see it myself.

3. 2 younger girls were 'treated ill', I do not what happened but the police came.

4. all together there were 3 policecars and one firetruck, they check one of the girls, she seemed abit chocked.

Pictures not good, there is a moscitonet at the window.

Conclusion is: do not be out after dark!!!

Yesterday I went too the 'Gardens by the bay' which is an area full of garden areas and the 'Flower dome' and 'Cloud forest'. I only went in to the 'Cloud forest' and thats an experience that I would recommend too anyone coming to Singapore.

Aaah shower off the traveldust

So nice too finally shower off the sweat and 'travel dust' of 15-16 hours of being on the route to Singapore. Time here is now 11 pm so it is late but still it is fine as I actually need too adjust to the new timezone.

So blogger fucked up again even on the webpage, as you perhaps know they stopped supporting the Iphone app and removed it from the appstore, it is still at Android play store I think. I have used blogger for many years ... sorry no more complaining.

It is not much too see but still I like that I have a 'view' and can see something instead of a brickwall.

So I got my room after about 1.5 hours of waiting or rather I waited one hour after I strolled down to the ATM machine and got some cash and did a small tour of the surroundings (bad neighbourhood more about it another day). It was too hot for me outside as I had longsleave 't-shirt' and jeans on so I went back too hotel and aircon hotel lobby.

So here is the room, not to shabby, small yes but clean and a/c.

Some hangers and hook to put your clothes and stuff.

Also a 'thingy' to put your suitecase/travelbag on.

I will write a lot of 'thingy' which means I have no clue what the name is in english ;-)

Well yes lots of editing will happen on the window desk, oooh there's a fatman in the mirror.

Toilett with sink outside in the hall, look at the place of the toilettpaper, gaah!!!

So if I get the "Dehli belly" I can take a shower and clean my self straight away.

Perhaps do number '2' and take a shower at the same time ... joking of course.

Fifth hotel booked, Los Angeles

So I have decided to not rent a car at the airport for the stay in Los Angeles, instead I booked a hotel room next too the beach, this means that I can explore the  Venices beach and also nearby Santa Monica beach. This will probably take a couple of days and fitting in some 'tourist tours' as well will take all of my time in LA.

Hotel has both bad and good reviews, I hope it is OK, price is high but location is great. There are a lot of nearby restaurants so I will enjoy eating some ... 'american food' what ever that is ... burgers, bbq,pizza, ...
They have bike rentals so I am going for that for sure.

I just realised I need one week more for plans!?!?

I am not set yet, got lots of shit still too plan but I will perhaps manage it tonight or tomorrow!?!?

Ok, I sorted out and came too the conclusion NOT to bring the heavy DSLR Canon 70d camera, this also means not too bring the 'slider and handgrip' so I will save lots of weight ... like 4-5kg. Perhaps I still bring the Manfrotto 'tripod' or I might just buy a new 'carbon fiber' light weight tripod in Tokyo ... I let you know tomorrow.

Stressed out

I am so stressed out right now ... it is a big trip I going for this time and still I have not done all my researched and plans which I want to do. I want all my plans and places to be done when I go ... but still I know most of the plans will not be done/made/happen still I want to have it. Most of it will not happen as I take the day as it comes and if it doesn't fit my planned day then so be it ... I do not care, most of the time you can not control weather or traffic or what ever ... I'll do something else then!?!? ;-)

I am also stressed because I have stuff to do here at home before leaving, wash clothes, clean the apartment, visit my father, bills, new driving license, 'evisa' for USA!?!?

WOW it is just one week until I will go for the 'WORLD TOUR'.
I am so excited and cannot even apprehend that I am going to do this crazy trip ... I am so happy being able to do this.

International street market in Eskilstuna

They have many city stops in Sweden and one of them is in my hometown, Eskilstuna.

Bad weather anyway a lot of peoples was here enjoying good food from around the world.

I had a 'Crocodile burger' ... I cannot recommend it.

Soon I will be eating local food in a different country ;-)

Flight seatings booked

I really want to know were I am going to sit when on a plane. Usually I want a window seat as I like looking out and see the world below, sometimes there such an amazing views that blows your mind.
I also take some photos and videos as well.
So now I have booked my seatings for all but one flight, it was not available, I do not know why!?!?
On some of the flights there were not much to chose from but I got some good seats I think.

Fourth hotel booked ;) Hawaii

Gaah it is damn expensive in Honolulu, Hawaii but I found a pretty OK hotel I think!?!?
Near to the beach and that is what I want as I want some sun, beers and relaxing before going to the 2 big cities in USA.

The cost for 5 nights is SEK 5476 and in US 659

So why haven't I bought an extra battery for my CANON EOS M, I have no idea?
When I buy a camera I usually do buy extra battery as well.

However I have now ordered an extra one battery and some other thingies as well ;-)

I still do not know what to bring on this trip ... camera wise ... should I only bring my Canon EOS M that actually can handle all my lenses? Or should I also bring my Canon 70D as well?
Bringing the 70D also means, too me, carrying a tripod and a 'glider' that will be about 4-4.5 Kg extra weight.
I do not know if it is ... aaaah I cannot decide ...

Third hotel booked

Yeah I am so happy ... I am going to Tokyo, Japan. I have always wanted to go to Japan and Tokyo is one of the cities that I have had on my "bucket list" for a long time. I have now booked a hotel in the Ginza district for 4 nights. It seems like a nice hotel.

The cost for 4 night is not cheap as the first 2 hotels, I could not find any nice hotels for a great price and at good location. Price is SEK 2649 and in USD 321

So costs of parking ... sorry missed it

Parking longterm is not cheap but having your car at 'Lindskrog parking' you will have security 24h and it will be safe there.

So in SEK it is 1150 and USD it will be about 139 ... it's for almost a month and I trust them.

Longterm parking booked at ... what a surprise ....

I always book my car parking at 'Lindskrog parking' ... I do not know excatly but I always done it and they provide excellent service, so I have more or less four weeks of parking here and I know some of you would argue on why do not take the train or let someone take you to the airport but too me these 2-400 SEK savings is not worth it. Now I go when I want and go home when I want ... yeah more or less ;)

It is convenient too me anyways, thats the point isn't it!?!?

Second hotel booked

The second stop on my trip around the world is Hongkong. In Hongkong I will stay for 3 nights and I found a hotel that I think will be great as its location is nearby the Victoria harbour and ferries to Hongkong island were I will go to the viewpoint, 'The Peak' I think it is called. This viewpoint should have a nice view over Hongkong ;-)

I did a test today with my new Iphone SE and the Slow-Mo function just too see if I can use it on my trip around the world and ... first impression is not great ... I will read some about it on the web and try find out if it is useful at all or rubbish.

Wedding last Saturday cameras!?!?

So during the morning as I first thought that why bring a camera as I have a new Iphone SE that have a really nice front camera and also can record in 4K,  4K is getting bigger and bigger and lots of 'youtubers' are going for that as well... so I thought I ... as I do not have any camera that can record video in 4K,  yes photos but the video, so I bought this smaller phone and I like the size, I already have a Iphone 5 from work so I am familiar with the size.

So what did I bring to the wedding ... camera suff I mean ... everything!!!
Q: Gaaah why ?
A: I cannot leave my Canon Eos 70D at home for such a shoot out!!!

My thought was just my Iphone SE and then maybe my Canon EOS M with some lenses.
Then I thought maybe if I bring everything 70D, camera stand, extra lenses, ... maybe someone else would like to take some pictures, it turned out that some other guy had taken 600 shots with a cheaper camera but these photos were really good. Canon of course ;)

Yeah everything or 70% ...  maybe less, I have so much stuff, maybe garage sale soon ;)

So this was a bit of test for my self as well ... what should I bring on my trip around the world ... and I cannot still not say ... fakk ... I love my heavy Canon 70D but my Canon EOS M can handle all the same lenses ... what to do !?!? 

Well it still 3 weeks until I will go ...  I WILL GO AROUND THE WORLD !!! ;)

For some strange reason as I also have posted before ... I still cannot not believe I am going around the world in June for a month ... it just crazy and I love it ;-)

I will share a Swedish band called 'Eclipse' that has a song called 'WAKE ME UP' ... what they actually sing about I do not care about it is just the chorus that want you too hear.

I just came to the conclusion that you guys out there probably want too know how much stuff costs!?!?
So in each of the countries I will visit I will add the costs of stuff to all my blogs as soon as I have something to report ;-)
It will be calculated from local currency to Swedish 'Kronor' (SEK) to US Dollars (USD)

So my first hotel in Singapore costs:
954SEK which is about 117USD for 3 nights

I have booked the first city hotel and it is in the city of Singapore.
'It is both a country and a city'
I will try to get as cheap hotels as possible but I am really not like a backpacker staying at hostels and so ... no I am more 'hotel' guy that requires high standards and security. However as this trip will cost 'a lot' of money, so at my first stops I will try to get good value for my money without compromising the standard. Well that said this hotel is OK.

Wedding yesterday

I was on a wedding yesterday ... nooo not my wedding ;-)
My friend got married to his Thailady Samorn. It was a nice wedding at Eskilstuna townhall with lots of friends. Afterwards we had lunch at Tingsgårdens Restaurant and Cafe' at the river of Eskilstuna. Weather was so nice and it could not been better.

What should I bring .. photo stuff?!?!?

I am really thinking now on what to bring on this trip as it will such a different trip than all my other trips. This will be short stays at every destination and I do not want to carry around a big DSLR camera as my Canon 70d and with lenses on it ... itwill be heavy ... so I as of now I think maybe I will only go with my Canos EOS M as I can mount all my lenses on it. It has a adapter, still this will be a bit heavy but not as heavy as my 70D. Of course my Hero3 will come with me ;) and I also bought a new Iphone ... yepp an Iphone 5 SE, I already have a nice phone but I need a new one so I got the an upgraded Iphone 5 as I have it from work and are already familiar and satisfied with that one.

I feel a bit bad not going with the 70D as I have bought it for travel ... still I have a month to decide.
